Power up for the 2008/2009 school
year with our Summer Workshops
|
 |
Do you want to
give your child an edge in next year’s school
year?
Are you struggling to find a full time program
with
staff trained to understand your special needs
child?
Do you have a high school student that needs to
get credit for a complete course this summer?
Do you have a child getting ready for
kindergarten?
We can help! The staff at Incredible Horizons
have the experience to understand your child and
can provide fun programs to enhance your child's
readiness for the next school year. We currently
have openings for children on a full-time or
part-time basis.
Each child's workshop is customized to your
directives and needs.
Parents already involved in the center, have
said that for the first time their children feel
like they “fit in” somewhere and love to come to
the center. That is a huge relief to most
parents.
Summer School
2008
starts the following Monday after school ends
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
If you need before and after care from 8AM until
5PM there is an extra charge.
The cost
is $100 per week for children not in our school
and $75 for families that have been in our
school this year.
If your child can not maintain in a 1-5
teacher-student ratio there may be additional
charges.
Summer workshops are not like school in that
ratios may be different and the schedule
and environment are totally different.
Students who will attend on a part time basis
will be charged $25.00 a day
if not a student of our school previously and
$20.00 if they are.
Partial days are $12 an half day. A week of half
days $50.
Most parents opt for regular academics in the
morning and cognitive training and hands on
interactive
activities are scheduled for the afternoon.
Students will be required to provide a lunch and
snacks.
Please avoid peanuts, pop and sweets in lunches
and snacks!!!
Drop off at
1855 Lansing Street. From Wickham turn onto
Aurora heading east. From highway 1 head west on
Aurora. There is a Dominos Pizza being on the
corner of Lansing. Turn north on Lansing and we
are in the education building in the Promiseland
Church Complex.
We enhance your child’s ability
to thrive in an environment that allows them to
feel confident and competent at their level of
learning: providing preparatory groundwork for
future achievement in successful living and
learning.
Our Summer Program will feature
Incredible Horizons Academy's some of
individually paced
academics along with the
WOW program and our
coaching programs.
Small group activities, social skill
lessons, and multi-sensory centers for
explorations in learning will also be used.
You simply let us know what you want your child
to focus on. Each child's workshop is
customized to your directives and goals for the
summer. Students can fill in their learning
gaps or get a head start on next years
educational requirements.
A child’s academic struggle can
be due to malfunctions in the learning process
that are deeper than what other programs/tutors
can correct. Our skill based assessments
actually
uncover what is going wrong with the learning
process and then they correct it. Our
programs are founded in educational cognitive
psychology to provide the correct environment
and challenge to facilitate a change in how the
brain functions in learning and life. This
allows them to overcome attentional and learning
disorders.
Our goal is more than to get
passing grades or to “fill in gaps” in learning
a certain subject. Our techniques actually
repair the learning process and increase your
child’s brainpower ability to learn. We will
improve the overall function of the brains
capacity to learn for the rest of their life.

Academics
An Individually Paced Educational Experience
Incredible Horizons utilizes both the
Accelerated Christian Education’s (ACE)
individualized PACE program and Alpha & Omega’s
LIFEPAC® and
Switched-OnSchoolhouse® text or
computerized, online, multimedia curriculum.
All students are tested
diagnostically upon entering summer school
and/or school. Students are then placed in the
curriculum in each subject at their own
performance levels determined by the results of
the diagnostic tests. Therefore, all students
can begin their adventures at the Incredible
Horizons with a feeling of competence and
confidence.
Students move independently through the
curriculum under the supervision of instructors
who provide tutoring at the optimum moment of
learning.
ACE courses consist of 12 workbooks
called PACE’s. Each PACE presents interesting
lessons, new vocabulary, challenging quizzes,
and mastery tests. Award-winning LIFEPAC serves
as the foundation for our SOS computerized
curriculum. Students love the positive,
success-oriented learning experience. Teachers
love LIFEPAC's emphasis on integrated learning
and critical thinking. Lifepac’s & SOS are
comprised of ten units of full-color worktexts,
combining exercises, projects, review, and tests
for each subject. Our curriculums require that a
student truly master each unit before
progressing on to the next. Built in diagnostic
and assessment tools guide our instructors
through individualizing the curriculum for each
students unique needs and facilitating mastery
for each student.
We
strive to provide the very best learning tools
for the creation of a success-based environment
that will facilitate the maximization of
personal potential.
