Providing more than textbooks and a teacher
A child’s academic
struggle can be due to malfunctions in the reading and learning
process that are deeper than what other programs/tutors can
correct. Our skill-based assessments are designed to pinpoint
barriers in the reading and learning process. Our programs
repair that through stimulating the corresponding portion of the
brain. The dyslexic brain uses five times the amount of neural
firings than the typical brain to learn. It is imperative that a
student with dyslexia has additional brain food like in the
supplement Balance Formula 1. It allows the brain to function
better, process information better and prevents visual fatigue.
A high protein, low sugar and carbohydrates diet often helps
too.
We believe Pastor Bode Kayode Maxwell: “You came here fully
packaged to overcome all oppositions; to shine like a trillion
stars, to blaze forth like the morning sun”. We tap into that
potential with these programs. Our techniques repair the
learning process and increase your child’s brainpower and
ability to learn. We will improve the overall function of the
brains capacity to learn.

The Listening Program™
is a
Music-Based Auditory Stimulation method that trains the brain to
improve the auditory skills needed to effectively concentrate,
listen, learn, and communicate. It literally exercises and tones
tiny muscles in the ear and helps build stronger multi-sensory
pathways in the brain. The brain receives especially rich
auditory stimulation, and its ability to process sound improves.
TLP helps attention problems, reading/language problems and
improves auditory processing abilities. This program
facilitates recovery from reading difficulties due to vestibular
based inadequacies. It is widely praised by Dr Levinson, a
nationally known expert in ADHD and Dyslexia.

Computerized Brain Gym-The
use of computers for cognitive training allows us to document
your child’s progress each time they sit down. These game-like
brain-training exercises speak to the user in a realistic human
voice, making the individual feel as if they are playing a real
person who encourages, praises, and challenges them to do their
best. They provide an engaging multi-sensory stimulation
that rebuilds the brains ability to learn more efficiently.

The Lexia family of products improve
the student's reading skills through a phonics based,
multi-sensory approach. Based on the widely publicized
Orton-Gillingham method, Lexia uses a combination of sound,
images, and software-based manipulatives. Research has shown
that the earlier children with potential reading difficulties
can be identified, the easier it is to overcome the reading
problems.
»
Phonics Based Reading
is for children ages 5 to 8. Phonics Based Reading provides
hundreds of exercises for practice in phonemic awareness,
sound-symbol correspondence, word attack skills, and early
comprehension skills, while introducing nearly 2,000 vocabulary
words. (Rated as best option for up to 3rd grade

Our
reading and handwriting specialist offers the Lindamood
Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS)™. Lindamood-Bell programs
are internationally recognized as one of the most effective
methods for developing literacy skills. The LiPS® Program
successfully stimulates phonemic awareness. Individuals become
aware of the mouth actions which produce speech sounds. This
awareness becomes the means of verifying sounds within words and
enables individuals to become self-correcting in reading and
spelling, and speech.
The Verbalizing/Visualizing program and Talkies program are also
used.
Accomadations Avaialable
Our SOS
computerized curriculum comes equipped with a “read me”
function, that allows them to independently perform at their
level of understanding for all areas of academics, rather than
their reading level. We have found that it is often helpful for
a student with Dyslexia to use a computerized curriculum because
of the increased depth on the page, the backlighting, and the
ability to type answers rather than write. The multi-media
presentations help the student to maintain attention and
increase the understanding of the subject. (See the academic
portion of this packet)
Each
student can have a customized intervention plan, when requested
by parents. We offer weighted vests in the classrooms that often
speed up word recognition and reading comprehension. Our ABA
often helps with motivation or behavior elimination plans. We
follow Dr Rosseau’s list of accommodations that includes reduced
workload, elimination of the need for notetaking, no reduction
of grade for reversals etc. Any personal accommodations that
have been helpful in the past can be added to their intervention
plans. We welcome parent and student input to maximize the
development of the students skills needed for successful
learning.
Mindware Software
can be added individual plans upon approval.
My

and more exciting classroom products (Software works with books in
different languages)
